Back to the 80s took place at Thornborough as a one-day live music event celebrating classic hits from the 1970s and 1980s.
The event featured live performances and tribute sets focused on well-known artists from the era, including music inspired by ABBA and UB40. With performances spread across the afternoon and evening, it offered a relaxed, nostalgia-led atmosphere suitable for a wide range of ages.
Designed as an accessible, family-friendly music day, the event allowed visitors to enjoy familiar songs, food, and drinks in an open-air setting.
The format later evolved into a full 80s Weekend, expanding the concept across multiple days.

Thornborough Event Field is located on Redhill Road, Birmingham B38 9EH (the Redhill Car Boot field, next to the Donkey Sanctuary).
By Car:
Thornborough is easily accessible by car. If you’re using a sat nav, enter B38 9EH and it will take you directly to the venue. On-site parking is available for event attendees.
By Public Transport:
The nearest train station is Kings Norton, which is a short taxi ride from the venue. Several local bus routes also serve the area.
On Arrival:
Clear signage will direct you to the event entrance, parking areas, and facilities. Event staff will be on site to help where needed.
